Fishermen in Guinea are Finding it Harder to Survive

Many people along the West Coast of Africa depend on fishing as their main source of income. In Guinea, one third of the population lives on the sea.

But pirates, lack of government help and fishing agreements that seem tilted in favor of corporate interests and foreign companies are making traditional fishermen feel increasingly left out.

It's getting harder and harder for them to make the few hundred euros a month needed to support their families.
