A Commitment for Life

https://p.dw.com/p/1F1af

Regina Greefrath is in her early thirties and about to make a decision that will affect the rest of her life. In a few weeks, she will take her Final Vows as a nun. Regina Greefrath studied Theology and Spanish at university and now teaches at a Catholic school. An accomplished rock climber, she spends most of her spare time in the mountains. Sister Regina entered an Augustinian congregation of sisters in the western German city of Essen in 2009. After six years of testing her vocation - first as a postulant, then as a novice - she is now ready to commit herself for life. We accompany Sister Regina in the final weeks before she takes her vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. We look at how she spends her time - in the mountains, in school and in the convent. She talks about her motivation, doubts, and the consequences of her decision. Her friends, students and fellow-nuns talk to Sister Regina and tell us their impressions of her.
