Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft - the international IT sector is dominated by US companies, while Asia has cornered the market for hardware, from laptops and tablets to smartphones. The EU is failing to keep up, contributing just 10 percent to the international IT sector's turnover. The European Commission is now making the issue a top priority.
