Beethoven in Bonn

This year the Beethoven Festival in Bonn featured the composer's only opera Fidelio for the first time since 2005. Conducted by Estonian-American Paavo Järvi, the performance in the city's Beethoven Hall was broadcast live to a rapt audience on Bonn's central market square.

Berlin Fashion Showroom

We meet Berlin fashion designers Oliver Lühr and Thomas Bentz, in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week. They're taking part in the Berlin Showroom - a project displaying works by 23 German labels with up-and-coming designers. It's financed by the Berlin city government and the EU.

The World Living Statue Champion

We're at the annual Living Statue Championship in the Dutch city of Arnhem. John Eicke from Germany is here for the sixth time. His simple white costume sets him apart from all the others. He calls his presentation "Blanco".

Exploring South Tyrol's Vineyards

For any wine connoisseur visiting the South Tyrol region in northern Italy, there is a trip that should not be missed. It stretches from the city of Bolzano down to the historic wine village of Termeno. This year, visitors can buy a winepass which not only allows them entry to many of the wineries and vineyards in the area, it also provides transport between them.

On His High Horse

A giant horse's head at London's Marble Arch has become something of a local landmark. It's the work of British artist Nic Fiddian Green. He's been producing monumental bronze sculptures for 20 years -- and they're all about horses.
