US presidential hopeful Barack Obama draws a crowd of 200,000 in the German capital - je 25.07.2008

The German government has described a speech in Berlin by US senator Barack Obama as a "positive signal" to Europe. A spokesman for Chancellor Merkel said Obama's call for international cooperation to solve global issues was in line with the views of the German government. Obama is due in Paris later today.
