Thirsty English soccer fans have drank several pubs in Lisbon completely dry. Many bar owners in the center of the Portuguese capital have had to hang up "out of beer" signs. With temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius in the shade across broad stretches of the country, the English weren't the only ones looking for a frosty beverage. In Leiria the Coats and Swiss decimated the inventories of barkeepers as well. In the old town of the city and near the stadium numerous bars were forced to close because they were out of beer and other drinks.
