Shares in New York Stock Exchange Euronext soared more than 14 percent Wednesday, after the stock exchange operator announced it was in discussions to merge with Frankfurt's Deutsche Boerse. Trading in both companies was suspended briefly. If the deal goes through, it would create the world's largest exchange operator.
