The EBRD helps Eastern European countries which would like to adopt the euro

Numerous Eastern European countries would like to adopt the euro. But most are struggling just to keep their economies from slipping into recession. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development gives aid to theses countries. The need is now so great that the bank is planning a large capital increase--just to fill its own coffers.
