The SPD 's General Secretary Hubertus Heil tried out Obama's slogan "Yes We Can" at the party conference a few weeks ago. Now he has flown to the US to visit the Democrats. He hopes to learn a trick or two from them in order to set up a succesful campaign for the German general election in 2009. Right now, the SPD's poll ratings are around 20 per cent, so Heil has a tough agenda.
