If you want to earn 2,500 euros have a baby! That's the financial reward for parenthood in Spain, introduced by Prime Minister José Luis Zapatero himself in a bid to halt the country's disastrously falling birth rate. The number of babies being born there averages out at just 1.37 per woman.
