Protests continue in Burma - Authorities answers with violence - je 27.09.2007 14 UTC

A Japanese man has been killed in Burma. Hospital sources told the Reuters news agency that they believed the man to have been a photographer. Crowds of protesters in Rangoon dispersed earlier Thursday under pressure from security forces threatening violence. Skirmishes broke out at demonstrations as police reportedly fired warning shots . Witnesses have described raids on a number of monasteries. Hundreds of monks are said to have been taken away in trucks. +++SYN-MAZ+++
