Over the years the German foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" has collected data and personal details about some 600,000 Jews who once lived in Germany. This information has now been handed over to Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust memorial and research center. In Israel, the data is already being used by historians and those coming to grips with the horror of the Holocaust.
