Other countries have been critical of Washington's dominant role in Haiti

The efforts of the international community are impressive not only for their scope but also for their cooperation. People around the globe are donating millions. Funding and aid is being sent by governments: The United States has deployed 16-thousand troops and a hospital ship, the United Nations sent an additional 3500 soldiers, Brazil added 800 troops and the European Union provided 150 police officers. While that international support is being welcomed by the overwhelmed government and suffering people of Haiti, there has also been critical voices.
