As Kosovo prepares to declare independence this Sunday, Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has called Serbs to brace themselves for the imminent seccession of the province. The Serbian parliament has voted to annul Kosovo's proclamation of independence in advance, although it's not clear what consequences, if any, that move will have. Western capitals have said they will recognize an independent Kosovo. Russia and Serbia have described the planned move illegal under international law.
