KINO # Strong showing in Venice – Prizes for German film: WOMEN WITHOUT MEN, SOULKITCHEN # 26.09.2009

After winning the Palme d’Or in Cannes, German films continued their run in Venice. Four German titles made it into the competition for the Golden Lion. Two were from Werner Herzog. Video artist Shirin Neshat won the Silver Lion for her feature film debut "WOMEN WITHOUT MEN." And Fatih Akin received a special Jury prize for his feel-good comedy "SOULKITCHEN."
