Project goal: retrofitting all 300 industrial parks in the state of Andhra Pradesh

Project scale: 705,000 Euros for training and consultancy

Carbon reduction: 3.8 million tons each year in four industrial parks so far

Most industrial businesses in India are concentrated in large industrial parks. Energy-efficiency and clean technology have so far hardly played a role. But that’s set to change. Eco-industrial parks are being promoted in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh. Local industries there are being encouraged to invest in energy-saving measures and reduce their carbon footprint. The main incentive for the businesses is that they stand to save money.
