Bitter schisms over new conscription law in Israel

Bitter schisms are emerging in Israel as political parties wrangle over rewriting the Tal Law, which dictates who is conscripted and who is exempt from military service at the age of 18. As the clock ticks down to the 25th of July deadline for a new law to be passed, Orthodox Jews and Israeli Arabs are sticking to their figurative guns and resisting the draft.
