37-year-old writer Julia Franck has won the 2007 German Book Prize for her novel "Die Mittagsfrau", to be released in English as "Lady Midday". 117 novels were in the running for the 25, 000 euro prize. The writer's award was created in 2005, as the German parallel to Britain's Booker Prize.
