Muslims in front of the "Jamme Masjid Mosque" in London
In a few weeks, a new board of Islamic theologians will convene for the first time at the University of Cambridge . Initiated and financed by the government, this board is expected to provide guidance to British Muslims and to produce reports on controversial issues like the face veil, or the question of whether British Muslims should be allowed to fight in wars in mainly Muslim countries like Afghanistan . Police arrests are related to the establishment of new Muslim institutions, They are the two sides of the recent British anti-terror-strategy. The government is trying to fight the threat of terrorist attacks by addressing its root cause – radicalisation within some Muslim communities in Britain . But 'on the ground', its initiatives are met with suspicion.
