If you get a little nervous around spiders, especially in a place like Australia which is home to some of the world’s deadliest spiders, then a little bit of fear is probably quite healthy. But for some people even looking at a picture of a spider sends them into a spin of panic, which besides being uncomfortable can also be quite dangerous and debilitating. Sydney’s Taronga Zoo has developed a course to help participants to overcome their severe fear of spiders. Over 4 hours people are educated about the habits and habitats of these creatures, and the ultimate goal is for participants to catch and hold a live spider at the end of the course. Cinnamon Nippard has more from Sydney.
