Students who don't behave might end up at a teen court
For some time now, the towns of Ingolstadt and Aschaffenburg, in the German state Bavaria, have been running teen courts – that is, students debate the offences of their peers and hand out punishments. Now another German state, Saxony, is trying out student courts in two cities, Leipzig and Bautzen. Dagmar Hess-Rostampour accompanied the student jurists, all 14 to 19 years old, as they took part in training seminars. Eric Heath presents her report.
