Ambassador of Bangladesh to Germany
Ambassador Mosud Mannan is a career diplomat for the past 27 years with postings in London, Muscat, New York and Beijing. He had an ambassadorial assignment in Morocco, with concurrent accreditation to Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and Sierra Leone. He is serving as Bangladesh's ambassador to Germany at present, with concurrent accreditation to Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary Slovenia and the Slovak Republic.
Ambassador Mannan studied law and economics at the Dhaka University, later attending the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy in Boston, USA. He has published extensively on subjects ranging from Japan-Bangladesh relations to EU-Bangladesh relations. He is also interested in poetry and has edited more than one collection of Bangla poetry with translation in English and other languages.
A further area of interest and involvement for Ambassador Mannan is in the field if inter-faith activities. He was the official representative of Bangladesh's Permanent Mission to the Islamic Cultural Center in New York and represented Bangladesh at the Inter-Religious Conference held in Astana, Kazajkstan in 2008. He also attended the UNAoC Forums held in Istanbul and Doha.
Ambassador Mannan's hobbies are reading, social work, classical music, chess and - how could it be otherwise - travelling.
