A German-led NATO airstrike in Afghanistan is proving fuel for the Left Party's election campaign
An airstrike last week on the northern Afghan region of Kundus left scores of people - including civilians - dead or badly injured. The airstrike was ordered by the Bundeswehr and may have played into the hands of the only mainstream political party in Germany that's been demanding the immediate and complete withdrawal of German troops from Afghanistan. The question is whether anti-Afghanistan sentiment is enough to shift votes on the day.
