Bologna's Gender Bender Festival Overwhelms with Choice

As the old Yorkshire expression goes, "there’s nowt so queer as folk", and that's particularly true in Bologna where the Gender Bender festival has been in full swing.

In its fifth year, the annual event is dedicated to the shifting perception of body, gender and sexual orientation. The six day festival offers an alternative approach to contemporary culture. It focuses on the way the overlapping and intertwining of gender identity and sexual orientation can create new and stimulating results. There’s a huge mix of events all over town, including theatre and dance performances, films and documentaries, installations, visual arts, live concerts, club nights and round table discussions.
