With this so-called multi-band receiver, listeners can tune into Deutsche Welle's digital DRM and conventional analogue (AM) broadcasts. These digital broadcasts use the DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) standard and are currently available in parts of Europe and Asia. Programs are in English and German and consist of news, current affairs and music from Germany and Europe.
Other broadcasters putting out programs in the new digital DRM standard include the BBC, the Voice of Russia, Bayerische Rundfunk, Deutschlandradio. With these new receivers, listeners are guaranteed full listening pleasure, as they can pick up not just DRM, but also DAB as well as conventional AM and FM broadcasts.
