Michael Krzeminski is a professor for communication studies at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in Sankt Augustin, Germany. After studying and early teaching assignments at the Universities of Giessen, Münster and Birmingham (U.K.), he was a research fellow and assistant director of the Catholic Media Council (CAMECO), a media consultancy for developing countries based in Aachen, from 1985 – 1991. From 1991 - 2000 he was co-founder and first executive director of the Further Academic Media Training Institute (FAM) at Siegen University. Krzeminski has published several books and many articles on various aspects of media and communication research. At Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences he has held different positions, such as vice rector and dean, and now teaches within the various media and communication programs of the university and its affiliates. He is co-director of the Institute of Media Analysis and Development (IMEA) and senior fellow at the International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE).
