Sachin Taparia is the co-founder and chairman of LocalCircles, a new media company based in India that facilitates the development of closed, real-identity, online-based communities in cities. These local networks are based on people's neighborhood, workplace and school needs and interests. The mission of LocalCircles is to strengthen local communities and make "credible" information required in daily urban life easily available.
A passionate believer in the power of technology and values, Taparia is also an active speaker, contributor and panelist on business accountability, trust, integrity, collective action, corporate governance and anti-corruption. He has spoken and written about these topics for the World Economic Forum, the Confederation of Indian Industry and other organizations.
Prior to LocalCircles, Taparia co-founded and served as managing director of Aviall India, a subsidiary of the Boeing company. Prior to joining Boeing, Taparia was the director of supply chain services at Aviall, Inc. in Dallas, Texas. From 2010-2013, Taparia also served on the advisory board of TVS and Sons, India’s largest auto services company.
Sachin holds a Master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Cincinnati in the United States and a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Bhopal, India.
