Küfner, Michaela

Since 2008 Michaela Küfner has been presenting the current affairs TV magazine „Global 3000“, in English on Deutsche Welle. Sustainable development and the effects of globalisation are her main thematic focus; and she thrives on the challenge of showing how these issues matter to viewers around the globe. Michaela Küfner began her journalism career with BBC World in London where she worked on „Hard Talk“ and the main daily news broadcast „The World Today“. Based on these experiences, she decided to dig deeper into what it takes to establish and breathe life into the term „Democracy“. Upon her return to Germany in 2001 she worked on Democracy Issues as an Election Observer and following her MSt. in International Human Rights Law in Oxford, co-founded the NGO „Democracy Reporting International“. In her free time she enjoys answering her two children’s questions to the best of her knowledge. Michaela Küfner lives in Berlin.
