Anna Cristina Suzina, a Brazilian journalist with a Master's Degree in political science, has worked in or led communication initiatives related to the improvement of human rights and conservation of nature, mostly in Latin America. She is now a PhD candidate researching how community media can help vulnerable people to develop citizenship and strengthen democracy in Brazil. Her background includes experience at Pastoral da Criança, one of the most important Brazilian NGOs, Fundação Telefônica and Fundação Grupo Boticário de Proteção à Natureza, the World Social Forum and the World Water Forum.
