Susana Puerto is the manager of the Youth Employment Network (YEN), a partnership uniting the United Nations, the International Labour Organization, and the World Bank in the pursuit of new and durable solutions to the youth employment challenge. YEN is a global platform whose goal is to prioritize youth employment on development agendas and to exchange knowledge on effective policies and programs to improve employment opportunities for youth. Prior to joining YEN, Puerto worked for the World Bank and consulted on social protection issues for other organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank. Her research interests focus on skills development and the design and implementation of active labor market programs for disadvantaged workers, particularly youth. She holds an M.A. in economics from Georgetown University in the United States.
