Cheema, Dr. Amrita

Amrita Cheema is a presenter and journalist with DW television in Berlin. She anchors the flagship news program, Journal, and produces several news and current affairs shows. Since 2010 she has been moderating the DW-World Economic Forum debates on challenging issues of our times.

For four years in the 1990s Cheema worked for television in India. More recently she spent three years in Sydney with SBS TV. She has produced and presented a wide range of programs, made documentaries, worked as a reporter, interviewed leaders and hosted discussions.

Cheema has lived in Germany since 1988. She is a Rhodes Scholar with a D.Phil. in Modern History from Oxford University.
