President UTAIM, Tunesian Union for Helping Mentally Disabled Children, Dejerba, Tunesia

El Mongi ben Sassi Ben Hamouda has practiced medicine for 25 years. He has headed the Midoun, Djerba branch of Tunisia's assistance services for the mentally handicapped since 1996. From 2005 to 2010 he served as chair of the UTAIM El Mey center for the handicapped in Djerba. Ben Hamouda has been active in community service for 25 years. He has organized 14 international scientific meetings for the mentally handicapped. He founded the Tunisian Baseball Union, the Diabetics Association of Djerba and the local Lions Club, and is a member of all of them. Ben Hamouda has been a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce since 1985. He is the head of several youth and sport associations and represents the Sonbala Club for Friendship with Libya. He is also the founder and former president of the El Mey primary school alumnae association and a member of an association devoted to developing health, cultural and social affairs. In 2011, Ben Hamouda founded an association of doctors in Djerba, which he currently chairs. He speaks Arabic, French, English and German.
