Iris Gross, Teacher and Researcher, Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, Sankt Augustin, Germany
Iris Gross studied mechanical engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern where she also worked as a research and teaching assistant between 1995 and 2002. From 2002-2006 she was a team leader at the GKN Research and Development Center in Lohmar, Germany.
For her PhD thesis Gross investigated water jet cutting for surgery at the cornea of the eye. From 2008 until 2009 she worked as a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne before she took over teaching and research activities at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in 2009, focusing on strength of material, dynamics, vibration analysis, CAD, machine construction and design, test methods and test rig development.
