Schmidt, Prof. Christoph

Professor Christoph Schmidt studied economics at the University of Siegen and completed his doctorate at the University of Cologne. He began his professional career in marketing and personnel, and worked as a consultant and manager for several industrial and public companies thereafter. In 1995, Schmidt moved to Deutsche Welle and held several senior management positions in various departments. Since early 2006 he has headed the administration and academic department at DW Akademie and since 2009 has been responsible for the Master's Program “International Media Studies”. Additionally, Schmidt has worked since 2000 as a lecturer and professor at German and international universities.
