Pía Figueroa has a BA in arts history and is an ecology expert. She was Chile's Vice Minister of National Assets from 1990 to 1993 and represented the country at international negotiations on climate change, the Montreal Protocol and Antarctic Treaty. She is also the president of the Laura Rodriguez Foundation that develops educational, environmental, gender, cultural, and social projects. Figueroa is vice president of the Pangea Foundation, which promotes diversity and encounters among cultures. Since 2008 she has been the director of Pressenza, an international news agency specialized in peace, non-violence, humanism and non-discrimination.
