Ian Pringle is a specialist in participatory communication and community media. He has been involved for more than 25 years with community groups using media for expression and learning. After a decade working with community media in Canada, Pringle spent eight years in South Asia involved with media and development groups. After five years with UNESCO, including two at its headquarters, he returned to Canada in January 2008 to work with the Commonwealth of Learning, where he directs a program using media for community-based learning. Pringle holds an MA in New Media and Society from the University of Leicester.
