Professor Dr. Martin Löffelholz (*1959) is Rector of the Swiss German University in Jakarta, Indonesia, Director of the International Research Group on Crisis Communication, Head of the Ilmenau Centre for Public Diplomacy Research and Training and senior adviser to governments, corporations and NGOs. After several years as a reporter and earning his Ph.D. (1988), Professor Löffelholz has taught at universities in Germany, Indonesia and the Philippines, mainly in the areas of war and crisis communication, journalism and intercultural communication. Recently, he finalized a comparative research project on the media relations of the German and US armed forces. Among his numerous publications, he co-edited the “Handbook on War and Crisis Reporting”.
