Deutsche Welle Radio is pleased to present a fully new music format: pop, jazz and classical music from Germany and Europe. Deutsche Welle Radio is the first broadcaster to transmit music made mainly in Germany. The program is complemented with important European productions.


24 hours live and up-to-date

Deutsche Welle Radio is 24 hours a day of music and news. Each broadcast hour begins with five minutes of news from every part of the world, alternating in German and English.


Pop, Classical, Jazz

Deutsche Welle Radio is not afraid of crossing boundaries. The choice of music is full of variety: from the finest pop music from the Eighties, Nineties and today, to classical and jazz. Deutsche Welle Radio presents an interesting survey from Germany, the land of music.


Classical Masterpieces – daily from 21:05-23:00 (CET/CEST)

Friends of classical music can look forward to very special moments. Deutsche Welle Radio presents two hours of superb concert recordings every day. Familiar masterpieces by Beethoven, Mozart or Bach, performed by famous soloists such as Anne Sophie Mutter or Alfred Brendel and renowned orchestras like the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics. Also, recordings from German music festivals such as the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth, the International Beethoven Festival in Bonn or the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

Every first and third Sunday at 21:05 Uhr (CET/CEST), Deutsche Welle Radio, in cooperation wtih the classical music magazine FONO FORUM, presents the Artist of the Month.


Jazz Chillout – daily at 23:05 Uhr (CET/CEST)

The last hour of the day belongs to jazz. Deutsche Welle Radio plays cultivated jazzy sounds to round out the day – or for a relaxed start to the new day – depending on your perspective.


Top of the Pops

Deutsche Welle Radio presents the Top 10 of the latest weekly charts in Germany. The ten best-selling singles every Saturday and Sunday at 18:05 Uhr (CET/CEST)

In several metropolitan areas in southwestern Europe, Deutsche Welle Radio offers daily information for the target area, live and at prime time, in the local language, as well as programs in German and English.

Deutsche Welle Radio can be heard worldwide via Satellite, Digital Shortwave (DRM) and on FM in certain European metropolitan areas. And of course also in Live Stream.
