Landmark of change

November 16, 2014

Dresden's main landmark, the once flattened Frauenkirche, was first completed in 1743. It has been restored according to the original plans of Baroque-era architect George Bähr after it was fire-bombed by the Allies in 1945. A worldwide appeal for funds raised more than 110 million euros ($138 million). Local media called it the "miracle of Dresden."
