Berlin Tegel - The Story of an Airport
Tegel Airport in Berlin was and still is a bold design: at its opening in 1974, it was one of the most modern airports in Europe. Tegel was long ago consigned to history - or at least that was the plan. But shortly before its scheduled closure, the old Berlin airport is getting a second wind. Because of delays in the opening of the new BER airport, Tegel now has to cope with more departures and arrivals than ever before. "Those on death row live longest,” an old German proverb says. And that’s true of Tegel Airport too.
