May 9th is the day Russia marks the victory over Nazi Germany. This year, the 70th anniversary of Hitler’s defeat, was supposed to be a day of celebration, but Victory Day takes place under the sting of rejection this year; all but two EU heads of state have declined Moscow’s invitation to attend.
