Coping with Stress through Sports

Why are physically active children more cheerful than couch potatoes? A study may have found an answer.

Physically active children generally report happier moods and fewer symptoms of depression than children who are less active. Now researchers may have found the reason: exercise seems to help children cope with stress. Kids who do sports on a daily basis will respond better to everyday stressors like tests and social challenges, possibly because their hormonal responses are different.
