How do I master conflict situations? This is a question that is worrying many of Deutsche Welle’s young listeners. And some of you came forward to the Learning by Ear team proposing this topic. Because even though most Africans live in peaceful countries, some regions still suffer from armed conflicts.

The radio drama is intended to identify ways of conflict resolution without using force. We will get to meet Masambo and Mitumba, two family heads, from different ethnic backgrounds, but living together in Kijani, a fertile valley. The two are caught up in a number of conflicts. So can they find lasting resolutions and live in peace? The story will help the listeners to learn about ways to deal with conflicts in their own lives.

Deutsche Welle’s Learning by Ear is available in six languages: English, Kiswahili, French, Hausa, Portuguese and Amharic.
