The legendary silk road used to be the main trading route connecting China, central Asia and Europe for centuries. China is now promoting the idea of a “new” silk road, hoping to foster its trade and transport ties with central Asian countries. At the same time, China hopes to pacifying it’s unruly Western region by boosting its economy.
