Change in management

After 10 years as Director of DW Akademie Gerda Meuer has taken on a new position. Her successor is Christian Gramsch, formerly DW Director for Regionalized and Multimedia Content.

DW's two programming departments in Bonn and Berlin have been merged and on November 1, 2013. Director General Peter Limbourg appointed Gerda Meuer as DW's new Director of Programming. Meuer had previously headed DW Akademie. Her successor is Christian Gramsch.

Gramsch was previously DW's Director for Regionalized and Multimedia Content and for DW's radio and online services. Prior to joining DW Gramsch was the editor-in-chief of radio at the public broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk. He is also an experienced instructor and consultant in the area of advanced training for journalists.

The new Director says DW Akademie will be increasing its focus on the demands of multimedia journalism. Over the past few years Gramsch had successfully integrated the editorial departments for radio and online content and had promoted the production of television programs at DW in Bonn.

DW Director General Peter Limbourg thanked Gerda Meuer for establishing DW Akademie as Germany's leading organization for international media development.
