Barcelona host super-rich French club Paris St. Germain at the Nou Camp on Wednesday, in what bodes to be the highlight of the last night of Champions League action. PSG's coach Laurent Blanc said ahead of the match that it's important his team gets a win against Barca, to back up their earlier win against the Spaniards in September.

"We know finishing top [of the group] is an advantage," said Blanc, whose side are bidding to top their group for the third successive season.

"It allows us to avoid certain opponents and also to be at home for the second leg," he said at the traditional pre-game press conference. "They are small details but at the end of the day they count for something."

In contrast, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said his side's final Champions League group game was "not crucial".

"I'd prefer to be first but it's not a definitive advantage," Enrique said.

Barca currently trail the French champions by a point in Group F and must win the Camp Nou encounter in order to finish top of the pool. Both teams go into the match at full strength, only Barca's Dani Alves is missing, due to suspension.

Messi vs. Ibrahimovic

Enrique admits that defending as a unit will be the key to stopping Paris St Germain's main striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Wednesday's match.

"We are talking about a top player," Luis Enrique said. "If he is at his normal level he is very difficult to stop."

Swedish international Ibrahimovic, who spent a season at Barca in 2009/10, struck twice in PSG's 2-1 victory at home to Nantes at the weekend and is expected to start for the French champions.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi remains in good form, after scoring a hat trick in his team's 5-1 La Liga victory against Espanyol on Sunday. The Argentine now has over 400 goals for Barcelona, a club record. After three goals last month against APOEL Nikosia the left-footed midfielder also now holds the Champions League scoring record too, with an amazing 74 goals.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Bayern Munich will host Group E opponents CSKA Moscow in what is basically a meaningless encounter for the Bavarians. Pep Guardiola's team are seven points ahead in their group, while CSKA, Manchester City and AS Roma - all equal on five points - each still have a chance to go through.

DW will have live coverage on Wednesday of all Champions League matches with German involvement - from 19:15 UTC onwards at www.dw.de/sports.
