Bayern Munich's David Alaba has been named Austrian Footballer of the Year for the fourth successive year and is now level on a record four wins with former Austria Wien player Ivica Vastic.

All 10 coaches in the Austrian Bundesliga, the country's top division, voted for the 22-year-old who has excelled with the German champions in this calendar year.

"Huge thanks to the coaches that voted for me," Alaba said. "This is really something special for me and I'm extremely happy about it."

One of the coaches who voted for the Austrian star was Red Bull Salzburg's Adi Hütter.

"Alaba is an exceptional player who has won titles at the highest level for Bayern," the Salzburg head coach said.

Jonathan Soriano, of Austrian champions Salzburg, was second, while his team-mate Kevin Kampl came third.

For the second year in a row, Alaba holds both the Austrian Footballer of the Year award and the Sports Personality of the Year title, which he won earlier in the year.
