Are chewing gums good or bad for your health?

Here is Dr. Lekutat's answer:
There is a simple answer to that question: both. If you chew gums with sugar in them, they pose a risk to your teeth, as they can lead to caries and peridontal disease. If you choose to chew sugarfree gums, it will be good for your teeth and even prevent tooth decay. The reason for that is, that chewing gum produces more saliva in your mouth, and that fights caries. So, chewing gum after each meal is a great idea.
