The selection process for the Classic Traineeship takes place in several stages.

Selection Procedure
The procedure is compromised of three rounds:

1st Round
Approximately 100 applicants are chosen from the many candidates who applied online.

2nd Round
These applicants must write a short report on a given topic within two weeks.

3rd Round
A few weeks later, approximately one third of the applicants who submitted reports will be invited to the final round. For two days, their journalistic abilities and general knowledge will be put to the test. Finally, ten applicants will be offered an traineeship at Deutsche Welle.


Online Application
Applications may be made online only and within the given timeframe. Written applications sent by mail will not be accepted.

Next Classical Traineeship: September 2013 - February 2015
