Anne O'Donnell

Anne O'Donnell anchors DW’s flagship news program, the Journal, providing coverage on world news and international events.

The Irish journalist has been living in Berlin since January, 2011. Anne also presents DW’s science program Tomorrow Today, which focuses on current topics in science, research and technology in Germany and Europe.

Before moving to Berlin, Anne began her career in journalism in Dublin, working for Irish national radio. She covered traffic, travel and transport news for most of the major national radio stations, including RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ 2FM and RTÉ Lyric FM. At the same time, Anne began working as a correspondent for Two Tube, broadcast on Ireland’s RTÉ Network 2. She reported on a variety of foreign and domestic stories including Ireland’s financial crisis. She has also spent time with W-NBC in New York.

Born in Galway, Ireland, she grew up in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. She then moved to the Irish capital to study German and Italian in Trinity College Dublin, before getting her Honours Degree in Media Management. Anne enjoys Berlin life, travelling and learning foreign languages.
